Right but my little pushmower wont even eat the stems. I used a light weed killer on the dandelions a couple of weeks ago and saw some improvement, but now i need to get rid of the stems too. I figure I'll run the mulching more, get everything to a decent spot, reapply the weed killer and then adress it in another week or so.
The one thing I'm holding onto is the thought that gardens can last all year long. Carrots, Spinach and other greens do better when planted later in the year anyway. I've got a book on gardening west of the Cascades and will be putting it to use shortly. I think my first project is going to be cutting my roses down a bit and then sprouting off bits to make more rose plants. The roses are gorgeous I'd just prefer they not be in the veggie garden.
