Jan. 18th, 2003 08:26 amThursday was interesting. I have had some issues with not feeling well when I haven't eaten in a bit, so the doctor wanted me to get a fasting blood draw. Don't know why, but I interpreted this to be a fasting glucose test. I was really glad when the nurse finished the blood draw and told me to go eat. I don't do hungry well. at all. Thursday was also car repair day. Jeff's car just rolled over 150,000 miles and *really* needed a tune-up. And a replaced alternator (old one was outputting 50% or less than it was supposed to.) And brake fluid flush. And, And, And. Ouch. But it runs so much more smoothly. So I guess it was worth it. We thought about waiting to do the alternator, but with all the driving around we do, as well as our planned trip to winthrop next month (where there isn't always cell service to call if the battery dies), we decided it was better safe than sorry.
I spent yesterday out in the yard and cleaning up. I took about 2/3 of my compost pile and put it in a finishing pile. Now I'll only turn it (no more adding stuff to it). The rest I made into a new pile with all the weeds I pulled mixed with the old dirt from several empty planters (this will be a good way to replenish that dirt to use elsewhere) and kitchen scraps I have been saving. I noticed that there are lots of worms in my compost pile. Worms good :-). Now I just have to get the house and garage cleaned up for our housewarming party on Saturday, February 1. I also did some work rearanging the garage. I am trying to make it more a room than a cold storage. We plugged in the massage chair (finally!) and I enjoyed a nice massage. Unfortunately, I had to unplug it again until I can get a longer extension cord (my current one reached, but wasn't touching the floor. not safe... :-) Now I just have to figure out what to do with all the *stuff*. We have a lot of really nice apple boxes from the move (the kind you can never find when you really want a sturdy box around) that we have been storing on the shelves in the garage. I am going to have Jeffrey move them to on top of the boards in the garage rafters so I can use the shelf for storing stuff. Maybe that will be today's project. If I can convince my sore legs and back that they really do want to move. Maybe I'll stop by Sky Nursrey for a look see. (Sky Nursrey!)
