Feb. 14th, 2003 05:21 amWell, I got all my major goals done yesterday! and then some. I first did the money stuff (ok, the laundry was finishing in the background at the same time). Everything is covered, but money sure can be depressing sometimes. Then I played on my computer for a bit. Not on the goal list, I know, but it kept me busy until it was a) light, and b) warm enough to work outside. I went out and started turning the compost. Then I remembered about some clippings I needed to do that I wanted to incorporate into the compost. So I did that. Then decided to put the clematis into the ground. At that point I realized that my two big planters had enough dirt in them to finish my raised bed project if I took the plants out. So I proceeded to replant, dig weeds, transplant bulbs, and mound dirt. It looks great in my sitting corner. Finally I got back to the compost pile and finished turning it. That is another good thing about the weather warming up. I think it has been too cold to really generate enough heat to really break up stuff in the pile. There is some break down, but I want it to go faster... :-) Then it was time to pack up and pick Jeffrey up.
We had a nice visit with Loki, and a nice time at the Dragon Palace (Not Golden Palace or Golden Dragon. We can never remember. I think we got confused with a place down in Renton that we went to once.) The fireplate was just as good as we remembered. It has a nice combo of egg rolls, shrimp, the cold pork slices (can't remember what they are called...), fried chicken, paper wrapped chicken, and really flavorful beef on a stick. The skewers are on top of a little tower that they then light. You can cook the meat more, use the tower to heat it up, or (And I don't think they intended this) heat up the pork slices. I think I like them better that way. We added a side of fried rice and sweet and sour sauce. By the time we were done with everything, both of us were full. Total cost: 10.76. That was the best cheap dinner I think I have had in ages! I can't wait for the next time we feel rich enough to eat out.
So I had finished folding the laundry before we left, but as Jeff worked on wiping my old hard drive (his dad wants it), I finished packing the clothes for our trip. Now all that needs packing is last minute things like toothbrushes, pillows, and munchies. And packing the car. We are both really excited to head over to Winthrop. It is one of Jeff's favorite places on earth, and I feel like it is a nice, quiet, relaxing place to just hang out. No worrys, no cares. I can watch tv if I want, read, sew, play on the computer... Whatever I want. Jeff was so tempted to call in sick this morning. But he was a good boy and went in so that it wouldn't be crazy for everyone else at work. I love how he always thinks of others.
So, we'll talk at you all next week. Hope everyone's weekend is just as fun as you want it to be.
