Mar. 30th, 2003 05:37 pmYesterday was busy as planned, but fun. It was really good to see Jeffrey's parents.
On the way home, Miertam called to ask Jeff if it was a good day to go look for computer stuff (they wanted to try and find a used base for Jeff's old Dell laptop). So we stopped by home to get a couple of things and headed over to Gene and Miertam's place. Miertam was kind and offered to let me stay at their house while the boys geeked out, but I wasn't interested in tv, and wasn't in the mood to sit by myself. So I tagged along to RePC and Seattle Laptop. They didn't find what they were looking for, but hey, I got a couple of handfulls of Reeses Pieces out of the deal. :-)
After dropping Miertam back home, we drove down to the Sea-Tac Doubletree for Registration training session. I decided that I am going to be one of Jeffrey's assistants in greenroom so that he can have time to eat. Last year, I got him some lunch during one of the busy times. Since he was the only one who could use the computer, he never had time to eat it. This year I can hand him his lunch and say "Go. Eat. It. Now!" I'll probably also spend a lot of the con doing panel stage managemen. I just want to be available to make Jeffrey's life a little easier on the really busy days or let him go to a few panels.
Jeffrey and I had both planned to go to Kehf and David's pinochle party, but Jeffrey was really tired. So he pretty much went to bed. The party was a nice low-key evening. I had a very nice game of Go Fish with Auntie and Valentine. He was very polite and good tempered. I was very impressed.
This morning I downloaded that dBpowerAmp that Mark was raving about the other day. I have had a lot of fun ripping mp3s to my computer. I love not needing a cd in the drive to listen to music. And I like the option that lets me have the volume mostly the same (I have a lot of cds that are very loud and then you can't understand what they ware saying...).
I've also been copying pictures to my computer from various back up cds so that I can go through them and organize things. (you know, find the best of several similar pix, get rid of the motion blurred pix, and name things, and, and, and... :-)
We had to do another mold patrol today. Grrr... I'll be glad for the weather to warm up so it, hopefully, won't be so much of a problem.
Tomorrow is rent check drive and sewing day at Kehf's house.
