Apr. 24th, 2003 08:25 amYesterday was a very nice day. Spent the morning culling through the picture archive on my computer, mostly getting rid of all the duplicates. Jeff had several cd's of his archived systems over the years. I put all the pictures on my computer and am now trying to organize them in some meaningful fashion. That will be a big project. We also decided to help Miertam celebrate his birthday. So after picking up Jeffrey, we decided to see if Cash and Carry has gift certificates. They don't. All we got there was some whipped cream and a lot of funny looks. "You want what? No..."
So we decided that half price books would be a nice alternative.
After that, we stopped at Fred Meyer after Miyazaki. And we found it! Spirited Away (Mark, you should have gone just a bit farther up to 185th and Aurora), Kiki's and Totoro. But they didn't have Castle in the Sky. Sigh. And, after we had left, I realized that we didn't get Spirited Away for my mom (She REALLY wants it in DVD for Mother's Day). So, after we watch it (you know, quality control), we'll be taking it down to Portland. Sigh. Now I have to wait a bit to see when we can afford to spend some more money... Double Sigh...
Jeffrey decided that he didn't want to go home at this point. So we went over to Miertam and Gene's to hang out until Gene got home. Sky showed up in the mean time, and we all walked over to China City. We got one of those family style meals. I tried everything but the Orange Peel chicken. They were pretty good. Even if the waitress did chide me for not putting the tiny taste of (I think) mushu chicken in the pancake...
By the time we were all done, it was after 8. We made our excuses and headed home. It's a good thing that Jeffrey's alarm clock has a good backup battery system that makes the clock actually keep time (as opposed to my clock that just keeps it from resetting) when the power goes out. Sometime around midnight, there was a power outage. I wonder why? Guess I'll never know!
So today is going to be jobs around the house day, since I didn't do much around the house yesterday. That and drink lots of fluids. My throat has that kind of pre-cold raspy feeling. Maybe lots of fluids and vitamin c and stuff will keep me from getting sick... :-)
