Late, late, late... Tired, tired, tired

it is sooooo late, and i am sooooo tired... but the canning is all done. Tally so far: applesauce, peaches, pears, plums, and fruit cocktail.

I was going to save the fruit cocktail for tomorrow morning, but the pears were ready Right Now! Jeffrey (my wonderful Jeffrey) stayed up a great long while to help me. THANK YOU!!!

I'm babbling... My current goals are to finish my dinner and go make myself into a horizontal puddle of blissful unconciousness...

So the other bit of fun last night had to do with fuses...

Those of you who have been to the 1950's cinderblock construction home that we rent, may have had the fun of seeing our 3 generations of electricity boxes. We have the whole range of fun from 30amp bar fuses to circle fuses to a breaker box.

I noted yesterday that the dryer wasn't drying clothes. First we thought we were going to have call sears and ask what was up with that. Then I read the trouble shooting guide. note: if one of the two fuses is tripped or blown, the dryer will appear to function properly but will have no heat. And indeed, this was the case. One of the 30amp bar fuses had melted clean through. So Jeffrey got to make an emergency run to home depot. Luckily, this was at 7 or 8, so they were still open. Now we have spares. And know how to change the big, scary looking bar fuse... :-)
