You know, I hope I wasn't as whiny as a bunch of kids on recess today...

child runs up to me (no limp, no bruise, looks fine)

recess teacher, recess teacher! that kid just punched me, kicked me and almost gave me two black eyes!

are you ok?
yes but he almost really hurt me!

I'll keep an eye on him, but may I suggest you don't play with him if he is going to hurt you?

child sulkes for a moment then runs back and starts playing with the friend that he claimed was beating him to a bloody pulp...

Sigh. what's a body supposed to do? I didn't see the one kid hitting the other kid. the tattletale didn't seem to be injured at all. I don't like trying to figure out who did what and try to discipline the right person. I'm of the mind that "you can either figure out a solution yourselves, or you can both go sit on the wall. one of you for doing something and the other for tattling..." It's fine if I actually see it, but I can't look everywhere at once...

grr.. kids... no wonder I never went out to recess after 4th grade...
