It's kind of a slow morning. Jeffrey had a physical on Monday, and the doctor wanted to get a cholesterol (and other stuff) test, since Jeffrey is adopted and knows nothing of his family history. Since it has to be a fasting blood draw (nothing spectacular, just no eating or drinking other than water before a quick draw), Jeffrey isn't going to work until 10:30. His draw is at 8:50, and then we are treating him by going to Dennys! (ok. I know. but they do decent belgium waffles and strawberries... :-)

Anyway, wish us luck!

Then I drive him in to work and run straight to my first crossing job.

After crossing, I'm working more on Christmas cards. I got our family picture (with a decenct shot of Mattie, even!) printed and most of the envelopes addressed. I find that if I address them first, I'm more likely to actually send them... :-) I have a few more cards to make, by they should be pretty easy to do. Then it's just get enough stamps and put them in the mail. I know they won't get there by Christmas, but they will get there eventually...

then it's uber-baking time. I still have brownies and sugar cookies to bake, said sugar cookies and spice cookes to frost, and other stuff to do today. Oh, and friends are coming over for a nummy garlicy shrimp pasta dish. mmmm....

Then that just leaves tomorrow morning to get everything done for tomorrow night. trying to decide what food to bring for the party. maybe some cumin chicken. maybe something else. not sure... Don't worry. Cookies will be involved... :-)

Off to start the day!

If you havn't ridden your bike in several months, don't start by commuting to work (or something else with a time deadline) on hilly city streets.

also, don't start said trip without ample time to inspect bike, pump up tires, do a general inspection.

You can't just walk into a fire station (saw something about a fire hydrant that I wanted to let them know about... Absolutely nothing to do with my labored breathing... :-)

Even though I am more fatigued, the trip home can be less stressful because I can do it a lot slower...

I think I need a bit of a lie down...
