May. 26th, 2004 04:02 pmI feel like I'm in California every time I walk out in the living room! My orange tree has been budding. You could smell the orange blossoms when you put your nose right up against the bud, but not any farther away than that. Today the blooms opened, and the scent is all over the living room... Mmmm....
I'm eagerly awaiting the appearance of my favorite UPS man! He is delivering my Stampin' Up! stuff today! YEA!!!! :-)
Had a nice walk in the rain this morning. I don't mind walking in the rain as long as I know there is a nice, warm house and dry clothes waiting for me when I get home.
I also got to spend an hour and a half at the Saturn dealership. As part of the oil change, we had them look into why our engine was so noisy. And why the acceleration was mushy. And why our gas mileage is going down. So, we found out. The timing chain is loose. This is a normal occurence as a car gets old and well used. Unfortunately, with the age of our engine, they said that it was not worth opening the engine to replace it without also rebuilding the engine. They also said that an engine rebuild would be worth about 3 times what the car is worth... sigh... But that isn't all. The onboard computer is interpreting the chain rattle as knock (fuel not being combusted?) and is compensating. That is what is causing the mushy acceleration and poor gas mileage. Nothing that they can do about that, either... sigh...
Oh well... The car still runs and is all paid for! So that's good!
Time to go back to work...
(hurry, UPS, please!)
