that's the last time I take out my hoop earrings for a long time...

I wanted to wear some of my pretty, dangly earings that I haven't worn in forever because I didn't know how to put the hoops back in. So, since I was dressing up for the Christmas program at church, I decided to wear some other earrings. Getting the hoops out was harder than I thought it would be. I tried to put another hole in one of my ears. But I got them out, and my other earrings didn't infect my ears right away (which is one of the reasons I moved to hoops). The looked nice, and I was happy with them. Until it came time to put the hoops back in. What a pain! I got one back in, but Jeffrey had to close it. I couldn't get the other one back in, so Jeffrey had to do it... Now my ears are all red and tender. But, hopefully, not infected!

Anyway, one of the reasons I wanted to change my earrings is because I wore all black today. Some performers wear all black to try and blend back. When I perform on an instrument, I often dress in black so that the instrument is highlighted. But, when I sing, I am the instrument, so I usually wear colors. Today, I was singing under protest. It may not be widely known anymore, but I don't usually wear all black unless I'm protesting something. I used to wear all black the first day of school, any time there was a test I didn't want to take, or if I was just NOT wanting to be at school that day. Because I'm not in school any more I don't usually have a reason to protest and wear all black. So I don't most of the time. But, I was definitly protesting today. Hence the all black (including black accented jewlry). Unfortunately, no one noticed. The one person I told said she thought I was wearing all black because A) I was performing, or B) because it's a slimming color.

Hmpf!

Oh well. The performance is finished, and I'll never have to think about it again. It probably wasn't the worst sounding thing I've ever been involved in, but I definitely didn't like it. And the powers that be already know that if they try this again, I WILL NOT be singing!

Ok Rant done. Back to normal life and getting ready for Christmas!

Merry Christmas, all!
