(no subject)

We are having a great time here in lovely Winthrop. There's quite a lot of snow, but it's been clear and cold. I love the blue skies and the nippy bite in the air. I also love coming back to the warm house and sitting in front of the gas fireplace with a cup of cocoa!

Today was awesome! We just got back from the big dog off leash park. We're talking several acres with a nice trail through. During the wintertime, the trail is set up for cross country skiing/snowshoeing/walking. Yesterday we just walked. Today, however, I borrowed Jeff's dad's cross country skis and boots. I finally got to go cross country skiing! I've wanted to do that for years (probably 15 years or more!). I was so proud because I only fell once! Oh, there were plenty of times I almost fell. I can tell I'm going to be sore as well. But there were so many times when I could sort of feel what it was supposed to be like. And several times I felt like I was gliding along so elegantly! :-)

anywho. I'm making dinner tonight (black beans and rice and stuffed eggplant). It's about time to go work on them!
