Apr. 26th, 2006

I just realized it's been forever or so since I updated... And then I also realized that April will be over in just a few days. Where has the month gone?!?! Life has been just a wee bit busy.

I've had a very unproductive week so far. I guess I'm trying to make up for the crazy-busy weeks before...

I was actually kind of pleased that all my card class guests called and said that they weren't going to be able to make it to the class. That meant that I had a couple more hours to get the house clean for ed board. It was fun having everyone over. Yea for another excuse to get the chocolate fountain off and show off my new place to friends who hadn't been here yet. And we all fit reasonably well! Yea!

My sadness of the week is that someone decided that they needed the planter with my white roses more than I did... Our corner has a habit of things appearing then dissapearing. But this is the first time something of mine has walked away... I just hope at this point that it is providing happiness at someone's house and not just sitting dumped in a back alley...

But the rest of my plants are doing nicely. I need to finish getting my trellis put together for my peas. The blueberries and strawberries are blooming. I may even get some fruit this year! :-) I'm also experimenting with vegitables under the blueberries. We'll have to see how that works.

The weather was just beautiful on Monday. It was warm enough that I had the door and all the windows open. I really like this time of year. Jeff and I have been good and been walking to work this week. It's light, warm enough that I don't need a coat, and the lilacs are starting to bloom. Today has been pretty gray, but still not too bad.

So, I learned that 4 weeks of unfolded clean laundry make a pretty formidable pile (AKA the laundry monster). I applied myself to the monster today and actually got it all folded. Now it's just waiting for Jeff to come home and put his stuff away.

I was going to make black beans and rice for dinner. The only problem is that I forgot to start the beans cooking this morning... oops! So I'll set the beans to soak tonight and cook them tomorrow. In the mean time, we'll be having grilled cheese for dinner... mmm tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches with yummy homemade bread.

After dinner, it's off our work meeting and possibly a trip to Central Market for a date with their bulk section.

back to your regular programing!
