Tonight was Asian night. We had the missionaries over for dinner so I made chicken Pad Sieu. It turned out pretty good, even if I miscalculated how much I was making... We have a lot of leftovers. I know what I'm having for lunch tomorrow! I also tried my hand at fried rice for the first time. I combined a bunch of recipes and then added stuff to taste. Jeff and I agreed that it turned out pretty good and I wrote down what I did. While I was at Safeway getting supplies this morning, I found that they had pork buns in the freezer case. They were a pretty good deal (5.99 for 8), so I decided to give them a try. I even steamed them. They weren't the best pork buns I've ever had (which, admittedly, isn't many), but they weren't too bad either. Jeff liked them. And, since they were a pretty good deal and I didn't have to go out of my way to get them, I'll probably buy them again. Now if only Safeway would have mochi too... :-) So I made orange fluff for dessert.

We found a really cool little Asian supply store. They had the width of rice noodles that I wanted for a much more reasonable price (a whole .79 per package!). While we were there, we also found tapioca pearls for really cheap (like either .79 or .89 per package). Since the tapioca is one of the "expensive" bits of orange fluff, I decided to give the pearls a go. They were pretty good in the fluff, even if they did give it an odd texture. (at least to me. Jeff really liked the texture... :-)

Anywho. In other fun and exciting news, I now have a Curves membership (thanks to my way wonderful mom!). I went for the first time yesterday to do the paperwork and learn how to use the machines. I'll be going back tomorrow. I'm kind of stiff and sore today, but not too unbearable. We'll see how tomorrow goes. One of the fun perks is that I'll be able to go work out with my mom when I go to visit. We'll also be able to go together when we go to Utah at the end of the month.

I'll mostly be walking or biking over to Curves. It's one block farther than Jeff's work and about 4 blocks over, so I'll walk to work with Jeff then head over to Curves. If I'm not walking with Jeff then it's easy enough to bike over.

Of course, I won't be walking with Jeff tomorrow. He and his supervisor will be heading up to Bellingham to work on the backup/mail server. Jeff is going to drive up as far as Stanwood (where his supervisor lives), and then will carpool with Scott the rest of the way. Unless I decide I want to go and and hang out while they are working on the server. Then we could go visit with Sky and J'wyl... I shall have to think on that possibility...

Anyway. It's off to do a bit of paying work before bed. Life's grand, eh? :-)
