Oct. 30th, 2006 06:20 pmFirst of all, Happy Birthday to
utahraptor! I hope you have a marvelous day around the sun!
It was a pretty good weekend. I had fun at my classes down in Portland last Wednesday and Saturday. I only had to make one set of cards for someone who couldn't make it to my mom's class! Everyone seemed to have fun and liked the cards I designed. That's always a happy feeling
When I wasn't classing in Portland, I was sewing. My mom is a wonderful, awesome sewing buddy! She helped me fit my patterns and figure out what to do. I know my cool vest wouldn't have come out nearly as cool without mom's help! And we got about 1/2 done with the frock coat. I'll have to finish it. But I wouldn't have gotten nearly as far with it without my wonderful mom! Thanks, Mom!
I was very happy to get back up in the area, though. Even if it meant going straight to the Pandora House party and changing there. Everyone seemed to like the Pyrite costume (pirate clothing in lame and gold and black brocade). Jeff also had fun making his "pierat" costume. After leaving the Pandora party, we added some polyester fiberfill to the top of the pie to make whipped cream. It made the hat look more pie-like. We didn't stay for very long at the other party, but it was good to see people.
Sunday was a quiet day. I'm so very glad. I was feeling a bit run down from everything last week. It didn't help that I had a blood sugar crash after church. After the home teachers left, Jeff and I lay down to read. I finished Wee Free Men. Now I just have to finish A Hatfull of Sky before I can read the new Wintersmith. I'm really looking forward to it!
It froze last night! It was down to 28 when I got up this morning. I had to scrape my car windows before going to Curves. But joy of joys, it was still over 60 in the house! Woot! That being said, I still turned on the heat a bit. I think we'd like to keep the heat around 65 in the house except for special occasions...
I had a nice workout at Curves. I'm pretty excited because after my workout tomorrow, I'll have been to Curves every weekday in October! Go me! And we'll find out this week how I've done in the weigh and measure department...
I'm resetting up my computer. It was doing some really wierd things and XP wouldn't roll settings back to an earlier point. So I figure I messed something up and re-installed windows. Luckily, I didn't have a lot installed yet, so it wasn't too bad. I'm still getting things setup, though.
Other than the computer setting up, I did some paying work and worked on my friend's website. You should check out her newest column... It's not for the faint of heart, but is all about Creative Birth Control. It's pretty funny! :-)
I think I'm going to go to the storage unit next to get my pumpkin carving tools. I've got a huge pumpkin that needs carving... I also need to get my pumpkin pie recipe to my sister. She wants to try a from scratch pumpkin pie!
I should go do stuff... :-)
