(no subject)

Nothing like spending the first week of the year sick, eh? I caught the cold that was at least starting to make the family rounds down in Portland. At first I thought it was really bad allergies, but I changed my mind when I started getting body aches... Anyway. I'm starting to feel better finally. Yesterday I only took the cold tabs twice (and one of those was before bed). I'm still not completely well, but... And poor Jeffrey is now coming down with the cold. And he doesn't have the luxury of staying home and vegging...

Only now we head into a weekend that has plans. We have to decide wheather to go and possibly spread the joy or stay home and just wish we were there...

In the mean time, I know have to catch up on all the things that I didn't do because I was sick and not doing much. So much fun. not.

(no subject)

I'm sitting here, listening to the wind, and trying to convince myself that I really do need to go to the bank... When we paid the rent this month, the landlord called and asked where the other $50 was... Apperantly he sent us a letter around Thanksgiving telling us that our rent would go up $50 at the new year (the lease being up and all that). Needless to say, we didn't get it. But he oked us paying it any time this week since we were sick and hadn't gotten the letter.

How's that for another New Year gift? Oh well. At least we can pay it...

But that isn't why I posted. I posted because it's windy. Really windy. I don't know how it compares to the storm right before Christmas, but it sounds almost as loud. The wind has been howling around the house. It's an odd sound and feeling. Last night there was some thunder and chewy rain (our word for not really hail, snow, sleet, or rain, but something between). It must not be as bad as last time since there aren't even any power flickers, but it's still loud.

That's why I really posted. :-)

But since I've posted that, I guess I'll stop procrastinating and go finish paying the rent...
