Feb. 23rd, 2007 09:23 pmWe made it safely home from Portland. It was a very nice vacation. There were days of relaxation and days of stuffing as much activity as possible into a very small amount of time. I didn't get everything done that I wanted to do, but I had a very nice time.
One of the good things about the trip home was finding another middle eastern eatery. It was pretty dang good. The best part was the wonderful bread... They make it on site and cook it as it is ordered. Oh man was it wonderful pocket bread! The rest of the food wasn't quite as good as our wonderful Mr. Gyro's but we'll definitely be going again! :-)
The drive home was slightly annoying in that we hit really slow traffic on the north end of Olympia. As far as we could tell (from radio and 511), it seemed to go all the way to Tacoma. So we got off in Nisqually and stopped at a gas station to get out and stretch. After a few minutes of that, we decided to drive south a bit on a back road to see what there was to see. After about a mile, we found a shopping center with a Best Buy and a Costco and decided kill some time by looking around. After wandering Best Buy, I decided that I was hungry. A bit more exploring found us a Burger king and I was much happier. We had also spotted a Jamba Juice and decided to make that our dessert. Too bad the store hadn't actually opened yet (still hiring the initial employees). Oh well. At least the freeway was better at that point. We eventually had to slow down again, but I don't think I've ever gotten to drive through Tacoma without getting in some kind of slow down. Usually from some accident or other. It's kind of annoying really.
Anywho. We are home. The car is unloaded (well, all the stuff is in the living room now... :-). The cat is happy to see us. Oh boy is she ever happy to see us!
Now, as tomorrow and Sunday are going to be incredibly busy (but fun) days, I think I'm going to go to bed early. Then I can get up early, put my office to rights again, and do stuff.
