Home again, home again!
Sep. 5th, 2007 11:07 amI finally made it home yesterday. It was a fun trip, to be sure, and I'll most likely do it again next year, but it was SOOOOO good to get home to my boy. It was also wonderful to sleep in my own bed finally...
I had thought I would stop at a friend's house in the south end and planned my day accordingly. Then stuff came up and I realized I'd be hitting the Seattle area at 3:00... That is often an extremely sucky time for traffic. I was pretty lucky though. Things moved really well for most of the trip north. There was a stall in the HOV lane around 130th that blocked things. I also got off at Everett Mall and took broadway all the way up cause Jeff said that traffic pretty much stopped just after Everett Mall (normal). So I was home somewhere around 4:30. And when I got home, Jeff was making me dinner! What a sweetie!
We ran a couple of errands and then we spent a wonderfully quiet evening just hanging out and enjoying each other's company.
so, now I'm home and getting caught up on stuff. I borrowed a dehydrator from my aunt. I'm going to dry pears for snacking on this year. My aunt gave me a small box of pears which need to get done today or tomorrow. I also bought a larger box yesterday in Portland which are still ripening. I'm so looking forward to dried pears. They were a snack I remember loving as a child!
I also need to do some paying work, head to Curves, and do some grocery shopping. There's always so much that needs doing when I get back from a long trip! :-)
