geojlcI just installed the case around the Shuttle Box. Unless something goes wrong, Kitten is officially finished!
Kitten has been mostly finished for a couple of days. I couldn't put the case on, though, because the video card I installed had a humungous heat sinc on it with a fan on top of that. It was sticking out beyond the edge of the frame... Therefor, no case. :-) We were going to mod the case (ie, cut a hole in it), but Michael had a much better idea. We took him over to Fry's to find a monitor, and while we were there, he helped us find a replacement heat sinc. I didn't even know you could take off the original...
Anywho, today I took the Shuttle back apart to pull out the video card. I took off the old heat sinc and went to put on the new one. I was in completely new territory, now, so I waited until Jeff could come home for lunch to put the new heat sinc and fan on. It went pretty smoothly. Then I put everything back together and the video card fits inside the case.
Yea for new computers! Yea for learning new stuff about computers!
Of course, now I really have to buckle down and get to some paying work.
Tonight we head down to Shoreline to help with a friend's computer and maybe to visit with Michael. We're hoping to score a computer to give to another friend... (I only hope it's what he needs...)
I was really annoyed at Albertsons this morning. I went over specifically for the eggs and brocoli on sale. They had other stuff I wanted as well, but I wouldn't have gone if not for those 2 items. Of course, both of them were out of stock. And the delivery truck with the items was stuck in traffic an hour south. I got a rain check for the eggs (Albertsons is really good about rain checks), but I needed the brocoli for dinner tonight and I didn't want to go back. So I had to make another stop at Safeway and buy brocoli.
My life is so exciting, eh?
