I just got back from donating platelettes. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be, although I'm kind of tired now. They had me do a smaller unit than normal because it was my first time donating platelettes. I guess I'll be doing that again in the not too distant future! :-) Ever since my grandpa neede platelette transfusions to stay alive as long as he did, I've been kind of interested in donating them. But I also have O- bloot type and I thought that they needed the whole blood more than the platelettes. I found out, however, that they also type the platelettes as well as whole blood. And when then called me to ask if I would be willing, I said yes.

Dang... I forgot to get my 1 gallon pin today. At least 1 gallon with Puget Sound Blood center. I believe I have donated at least 2 other gallons in the past!

Anyway. Yesterday I got to spend a bunch of time chaufferring Michael around for some last minute Christmas Shopping. It was pretty fun. I also introduced him to Mr. Gyros. Mmmm! :-) Jeff joined us down at Gene and Michael's house for some yummy left over casserole. It was fun to sit and talk!

I think I'm going to go lie down now and take a nap. After that I'll head down to Shoreline to watch Valentine for a couple of hours. I hope he's up to playing quiet games today!

I got my 4 gallon pin this year, but I've never given platelets. I admire you for that! Guess I'm a big chicken after all...
