Yes. I'm uninformed. I don't watch TV. I don't read the newspaper. I listen to a bit of NPR each morning (and usually catch the top of the hour headlines at least once or twice). If I'm more awake when the alarm goes off, sometimes I'll hear some of the detail stories instead of just catching the headlines. Gene often points to fun news articles from the week and I sometimes even follow them.

And I'm more or less happy this way.

I often find current events seriously depressing. I do the things that I can, that are in my power to do, and try to not stress about everything else.

I make sure I vote every election. And I try really hard to make that vote be as informed as I can. I admit it's not always, but I try. When something comes up that I think is really important, I also write my congress people. It may not actually make a difference, but at least I feel that they have the thoughts of at least one of their constituents.

In the mean time, what's the point of stressing, worrying, whining, and fighting over what's going on in the world and what our stupid, stupid idiot in chief and his staff has done this time. I don't feel like anything that I can (or am willing) to do... You couldn't pay me enough to run for anything, and nothing else I can do will really make a difference in the long run. I certainly didn't vote for this white house who is doing more harm than good most places in the world.

So, if I voice an uninformed oppinion, go ahead and correct me. But if you do it in an argumentative way (Ie, your main goal is to whine about stuff and yell and not simply inform me), don't be surprised if I turn the conversation off. It's so not worth it.

So, yea. There is my something to say for the day. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not talk than get slammed for saying what I think.

Anywho.

it's a sort of sunny morning and I'm home. It's nice not to have any go anywhere plans. (other than a possible walk in the park at some point). So far this morning I have worked on bills and read LJ and done some paying work. I want to do some more paying work, go to the park, and go to Vixy and Tony's concert tonight at Wayward.

Maybe I'll do another hour of work then go do a picnic and a walk in the park.

We're in total agreement. Most of the news is sensationalized anyway. Get what you 'need' and move on.
