geojlcIt's been a crazy couple of weeks! Good, but crazy.
Friday morning I got up bright and early, took my sister to work (with a stop at our favorite donut place :-), and headed back up to Everett. I made good time and missed rush hour in all the major cities I had to travel through. I was very happy not to encounter too much stop and go (mostly at the 90/I5 interchange, but that's usual...). As soon as I got home, we hauled all the stuff out of my car. I did a quick repack of clothing, grabbed a few fun things, and opened my new boxes of Stampin' Up! catalogs. Jeff and I packed up the Saturn and we headed off for Winthrop. Again, as we left during the middle of the day, we made good time getting over the pass and to Jeff's parent's house.
It's been a wonderfully relaxing weekend. We've eaten out a couple of times, eaten in a few times, lazed on the back deck listening to the birds and the water flowing in the pond, read a bit, played a bit on the computer, and napped a bit. Jeff has gone on a few walks around the place and I had an ice cream cone at the wonderful Winthrop place. We watched a glass blower in town create a humming bird feeder from start to finish (neat!). I started reading the SQL for dummies book lent to me by a friend.
Because Jeff doesn't have to be to work until 2 tomorrow afternoon, we'll be heading back over the pass bright and early. I have a dental appointment at 1:45 where they'll be putting the permanent crown in. I can only hope it will go better than my last crown.
Jeff has to work on the 4th. He was going to get to watch the fireworks from his office, but they switched office space last week. No more west looking windows... In any case, I really didn't want to drive anywhere (and then have to drive home afterward). I was going to see what kind of fireworks Everett put on and not go anywhere. But some of our friends in Kirkland are having a get together. It's on the way to Jeff's work, so he can drop me off and pick me up. Barring being in too much pain from stupid dental work, I'm going to hang out with them. Although I think I'll skip the water balloon fight. I really don't like water fights... :-)
