Our house is rather old. And a triplex. there are 2 other parts of the house that I don't know anything about. There might be an access hatch somewhere there...
As far as access hatches, I can only speak for the front and side of the house I can see... There is a pretty dense hedge on the other (neighbor's side) of the building and I have no clue what's behind. Not a yard, that's for sure... :-)
the front doesn't have any hatches that I can see. On my side there are 3 grates in the sidewalk right next to the building. Jeff put a camera down there this morning and there is a trench between beams or something that goes under the house. There's black at the end of the trench. Not sure if that is an opening to the rest of the under the house or what. Probably not the end of the trench...
I wish I could shine a light through something to see what was going on down there.
I asked our neighbor if she was hearing anything the evening of the wierd sucking noise. She had been watching TV, though and didn't notice anything. They often have the tv on pretty loud, so I don't doubt her. I guess I should go over and ask if they heard the wierd noises last night...
