Happiness is many things. But tonight it was grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. It was also a ginormous mug that is big enough to hold a whole can of Campbell's Tomato soup plus liquid. Happiness is also a purry cat snuggled up against me. :-)

Earlier today, happiness was a nap. I called my mom (and found out yesterday's knee surgery went well). Then I went visiting teaching (for those not in my church, we are asked to help care for each other. I have 3 sisters I visit. My companion and I make sure they are doing all right, but we're also good friends. We get to be friends by visiting each other often... :-) Unfortunately, I think I overdid it and came home really tired. I had meant to get working on paid work, but bed gravity called me and I took a nap instead.

The rest of the day was lost after that. My brain is still fuzzy and I was too muzzy to do anything productive but not tired enough to sleep (after yesterday's marathon sleep session, probably...). I ended up playing a bunch of wow since it doesn't need too many brain cells... :-)

In the sickness department, this morning I thought I was getting better. Last night, my sinuses started draining. I'm pretty sure this thing is at least sort of a sinus infection, although a wierd one. I've never had a sinus infection that gave me a fever or body ache but no extreme pressure in my face... Anywho, they are still draining, but now I'm getting gunk in my lungs. This must be phase 2... At least my throat isn't as sore as it was yesterday.

In any case, I might try to be productive tonight, or I might go to bed early and make a go of it tomorrow... Hard to say.

But to finish up this post, here is a mildly bizarre bit of Lovecraftian madness with a fun twist called The Great Old Pumpkin. I'm sure that there are several of you out there that will enjoy it! (I'm looking at you, Sky! :-)

I thought I'd get by without whining. But the coughing has started. So, why is it that the only thing that really helps when I start coughing, ie, fennergin with codine, has to be a controlled substance that my doctor's office will only prescribe if I physically go in for an appointment? Unlike Kaiser (my mom's HMO), they won't give me any refills and only barely give me enough to make it through a cold. Not enough if I have month long illnesses like at the beginning of the year. Why can't they put it on my record that the only time I'll ever use this stuff is when I really need it? Ok, so some people probably abused that feature and made it turn off. But I don't have health insurance and I can't afford to go in for an appointment just to get a perscription... ok. that wasn't as mini a whine as I hoped, but there you go...
