This is so totally not me that it's funny... (although I do have to say that my favorite color when I was about 5 was fire engine red...)
where to start... Oh. yeah. getting the message that Peanut might be all alone and needing to eat and go out. So I drove over and found Miertam there. Had a nice chat while I drove him home. Peanut is pretty pathetic when she's all alone...
I also drove around doing errands. Which is where the big adventure happened. It was time to visit the Hostess Thrift store to pick up more Jeffrey lunch desserts. It was really busy today, and the only parking spot left was the one at the far end of the tiny lot, up against the rail. So I parked. no big deal. There was a Honda Civic next to me, so it wasn't too hard to get in. Unfortunately, by the time I got out, there was a 12 passenger van next to me. And you can't back straight out because you would end up in traffic on 15th (all the cars trying to turn onto 145th to get to the freeway). So I had to back up and turn. I was watching over my right shoulder to avoid hitting the BIG van when I heard a scraping crunch. I stopped and looked forward to see my car up against the big pole (think 6 or 8 inch diameter steel job...) holding the Hostess sign. So I finished backing up and got out to look. ouch. Lucky the Saturn is plastic. It looks pretty bad... sigh... We'll be at writer's night with it for anyone who wants to see. For everyone else, I might put a picture up when I can look back and laugh nervously...
We have an appointment next week to get it inspected before we can take it in to be repaired. The people at the Saturn Dealership are going to think I'm crazy...
I just got back from checking on Peanut again. As far as I had heard, I still needed to feed her dinner. So I was a bit puzzled when she didn't want to eat. Instead, I just sat there and let her huddle against me. Maybe Jason fed her. But there wasn't anything written down on the keep track slip. So maybe she's just in trauma... Don't know. Until I hear otherwise, I'll also go over and check on her...
It's been a day...
