geojlcI made it home safely yesterday. It was a pretty smooth trip from Portland to Seattle. Not much traffic until I hit Tacoma. I've decided that I really don't like Tacoma. It seems like every time I travel through Tacoma, something happens to block or really slow traffic. Yesterday, it was a merge followed by stupid people rubbernecking at an accident. Except by the time I got to the scene, there was nothing but a towtruck getting ready to pull a car with a crunched front end away... Nothing really worth blocking traffic over...
Anywho...
whoops... The garbage truck just went by. guess who forgot to take the garbage down to the curb... oh well. At least we've been gone for a week!
Yesterday afternoon Jeff got a call from the cousin of a friend asking if we could come work on her computer. It got eaten by spyware... So we went to her apartment on Mercer Island and spent a fruitless hour and a half trying to make it work... there are other problems. Like a DVD rom drive that is no longer reading things and a specialized XP disc that had Windows saying it couldn't install a new copy because the disk did not have files it needed (like RAID drivers or something). So, instead, we told the lady what to tell Dell when she got back on the line with them. Hopefully they will at least send a new install disk. It would be more better if they let her send the box back in. It is less than a year old, after all...
After that, we drove around Mercer Island. That is a pretty drive... Then we went over to Gene and Mike's house to help them eat some of the soup. Except that between the time we called asking to come over and the time we got there, I started feeling sick. I don't know if it was something I ate recently or just the fact that I ate WAY too much while on vacation. Needless to say, I didn't help eat much soup... But Jeffrey really enjoyed it and we took some home. I'm feeling better this morning and started out my day with some of the EXCELLENT soup. It totally hit the spot!
It's day 2 of Jeffrey's new job. He decided to drive in again today. Eventually he might start taking the bus. We'll have to see how much it costs to drive versus the price of a bus pass... He seemed excited for the day to start!
Well, I should get a move on my day. I need to do some grocery shopping (there is almost NOTHING in the fridge!), some paying work, and straightening up of the house... That should keep me busy!
