Went to the doctor...

I got to pay $82 to find out that
So, really, I paid $82 to get them to give me my codine prescription. They told me that they don't allow refills because they are worried that someone with pneumonia will be self medicating and not getting treatment. I can see that. But what about those of us who are cursed with anual bouts of viral bronchitis? sigh...
The mini surprise was that they also gave me an inhaler prescription to help loosen tight lungs (like last night when I felt like I couldn't breath). so I suppose it was $41 for each prescription.
Our health system is freakin messed up.
In the spirit of trying to find something good about the situation (other than that I actually have my prescription), at least the money we spent today (and there was a whole lot of it) is still less than we would have been paying for the monthly paycheck deduction from the contractors over the last nine months...
- I have viral bronchitis (something I probably could have told them... I get it almost every year)
- there isn't anything they can do about it (again, not a surprise)
- I should get plenty of rest and fluids (duh)
