I'm feeling rather whiny. Tired and sick whiny but still...

Anyway, let's just pretend that I posted several paragraphs of angst.

In the mean time, let me find some things to be thankful for.

I'm thankful for my family. For my wonderful husband who just put in 2 very long days doing orientation and then going to work so that he could have a start date of this week instead of later. I'm thankful that he has a new full time job that will shortly have benefits and pretty decent pay. I'm thankful for my parents who are helping pay for my car tabs so that we can still drive it. I'm thankful that my car is running reasonably well. I'm thankful that I'm going down to Portland after Christmas so that I can see my family and my sister again. I'm thankful that I got to go down for Thanksgiving and also see my cute niece and nephew. I'm thankful that Jeff's family is going to have a gathering where we can see them.

I'm thankful that I live in a fairly warm and dry house. (and that I'm NOT still living in the cold, damp house in Shoreline... Although I wouldn't mind living in Shoreline again... :-). I'm thankful for wonderful friends who enjoy getting together and sharing laughter. I'm grateful for the wonderful gifts I received at our recent party and that they seemed to like my simple gift... I'm thankful for the gift of music I have and that I can once again sing (mostly). I'm thankful for my wonderful Sweet Adeline group. I love both the music and the friendship we share.

I'm thankful for comfort food (even if I really shouldn't be eating it). I'm thankful that I have the ability to bake yummy goodies (the black hole devil bunt cake went over very well at my party last night). I'm thankful for my craftiness. I love that making things comes easy to me. And even though it may not seem like it sometimes, I'm thankful for my religious beliefs and church. They mean a lot to me and I would be a different person without them.

There. That seems to have been much more productive than just whining. I'll have to try that more often.

I find it to be a useful exercise.
